What we collect

Only what the site actually needs:

• Your account — your email address (for signing in and important notices), a username you choose, and a password (stored only as a secure one-way hash; we can't see it).
• Your profile (optional) — see the next section.
• What you post — questions, answers, reviews, listings, marketplace items, and events you submit.
• Messages — notes you send to other members through our in-app relay.

Your profile — the sensitive stuff, handled carefully

If you choose to fill out your profile, here's the deal:

• Your children: we ask only for a birth month and year — never their names, never anything that identifies them. We use it to suggest age-appropriate activities. It is private to you and shown to no one.
• Your home address: used only to help you find activities near you. It is never shown to anyone, never shared, and never sold. You can leave it blank or remove it whenever you like.
• Your areas of interest: the neighborhoods you want to hear about, so we can prioritize what's relevant to you.

This profile information is used by the site to tailor what you see. It is not displayed to other members, not visible in the public directory, and not part of anything you post.

How we use your information

• To run your account and let you post, review, and message.
• To suggest activities and posts that fit your children's ages and your part of town.
• To send you account and moderation emails (e.g. "your post is live") and the message notifications you opt into by using the relay.
• To keep the community safe — our moderators review submitted content before it's published.

What we will never do

• Sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever.
• Show your email, home address, or your children's details to other members or the public.
• Run ads or hand your data to advertisers or data brokers.
• Expose your real name — your public identity is your username, or "Anonymous" when you choose it.

How other members reach you

Contact happens through our in-app relay. When someone messages you, we email you a heads-up at your private address — but the sender never sees your email, and you never see theirs unless you choose to share it.

Who can see what

• The public / other members: only your username and the content you've had approved.
• Moderators: submitted content (to review it) and your real identity where needed to keep the community safe. They do not browse your profile, address, or children's info.
• You: everything you've given us, on your dashboard and profile.

Keeping it safe & how long we keep it

We store your data on Amazon Web Services in the United States, protect it with industry-standard security, and only keep it while your account is active or as needed to run the site. Marketplace items and events auto-expire. Delete something and it's gone from public view; ask us to close your account and we'll remove your personal data.

Your choices

You can edit or clear your profile (including children and address) anytime from your profile, edit or delete your posts from your dashboard, and request full account deletion by emailing us.

Children's privacy

This site is for parents and caregivers — it's not directed at children, and children shouldn't create accounts. We never collect a child's name or contact information. The only thing we store about a child is the birth month and year a parent optionally enters, used solely to suggest age-appropriate activities.
